The dress code has now been made mandatory for the devotees visiting the famous Maa Ekweera Eye Devi temple located at Carla Garh in Lonavala, Pune. This rule will be applicable from 7 July. This temple is considered a awakened Devasthan, and there are special festivals here during Navratri. This decision has been taken with the aim of maintaining the sanctity of the temple and honoring traditional values.
'Darshan will be allowed in Indian dress'
Giving information in this regard, MP Suresh Mhatre told TV 9 Bharatvarsha that devotees will be allowed to visit the traditional Indian apparel to maintain the dignity of the religious environment of the temple. Let us tell you that Suresh Mhatre is the trustee MP of Ekweera Eye Devi temple. Women have to wear sarees, salwar-kurta or other traditional Indian dress. Men will get entry only by wearing dhoti-kurta, pajama-kurta, pant-shirt or traditional dress.
Full stop on western dress
Wearing western dress like shorts, mini skirts, half pants, torn jeans will be forbidden to enter the temple premises. The Ekweera Eye Temple Trust has appealed to the devotees to follow the new rules of the temple and come in proper costumes to see the Devi Devi. Lakhs of devotees are associated with this temple of Mata. A large number of devotees arrive here every day to visit. Devotees are openly welcomed this decision of the temple trust.
