882 crore 87 lakh has been released to get a grand construction of Mata Janaki temple at the historic Punaura Dham in Sitamarhi. It has been decided to do the construction of the temple in three phases. In this, a provision has been made for the development of the old temple at Punauradham at a cost of Rs 137.34 crore, the development of tourism related infrastructure by spending Rs 728 crore and Rs 16.62 crore on its maintenance for 10 years.
The issue was approved in the meeting of the Council of Ministers held on Tuesday under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. It approved 24 agendas. This information was given by Dr. S Siddharth, Additional Chief Secretary of Cabinet Cabinet Secretariat Department in a press conference held in the auditorium of the information building. He informed that religious tourism is an integral part of the culture of the country.
Punaradham, the birthplace of Goddess Sita, has a special religious and tourist significance. In view of this, Mata Janaki temple is being constructed in Punoradham on the lines of Shri Ram Temple in Ayodhya.
According to the information, for the implementation of the scheme under the scheme, the publication, execution and implementation of the scheme on the EPC model is being implemented at the level of Bihar State Tourism Development Corporation. This place is a major part of the Ramayana circuit.
He said that the birthplace of Goddess Sita Punauradham has a special religious and tourist significance. With such efforts of the government, there will be direct contact between Ayodhya Dham and Punaradham. Keeping in mind the spirit of devotees in the widespread public interest and the possibility of broader development of tourism, the existing Punaradham will be developed as Ramayana Circuit.
