Mohammad Yunus, the head of the interim government of Bangladesh.
Preparations for the election process in Bangladesh have intensified and with this, there has been a wide discussion about the leadership of the caretaker government in the country. At such a time, the question has started to arise whether the time has come for the farewell of the current Chief Advisor Mohammad Yunus? Informed sources say that this can happen, although the government has not officially announced the removal of Yunus or the appointment of anyone else.
According to a report in the country's major media house -time, no political party is allowed to remain in the government during elections in Bangladesh, so that the process remains fair and transparent. For this purpose, a caretaker government is formed, which monitors the election process.
But this tradition is not being followed in the last few years. Especially during the reign of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, this process was not followed and elections have been held under the leadership of Sheikh Hasina. Despite the continuation of the election process, the ruling Awami remained in the League government, which raised questions on fairness. Opposition parties questioned the fairness of the election.
Election under the leadership of new caretaker government
Now that the caretaker government has made it clear that general elections will be held within the next year, once again it has been focused on who will be the chief advisor, who will take over the responsibility of the entire election round? It has become a major issue in political circles, especially for opposition parties-BNP, Jamaat-e-Islami and NCP. These parties have also submitted two alternative proposals to the government, demanding the appointment of new Chief Advisor.
Preparation for election intensified in Bangladesh
Meanwhile, the press secretary of the Chief Advisor of the Acting Government, Shafiqul Alam, recently made a statement that all the administrative and security preparations related to the elections would be completed by December 2025. He spoke of recruitment of 17,000 new security personnel and also deployed the army, so that the election process can be completed transparent and fairly.
At the same time, complaints have also come out from some areas that local police and administrative officials are working under pressure from influential political persons. In view of this, the administration has decided that special training will be given to security forces and officials before the elections, so that their fairness can be ensured.
