The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a monsoon alert for Uttarakhand, warning of intense rainfall activity over the next few days. The alert comes as several districts in the hill state continue to receive moderate to heavy rainfall, raising concerns about landslides, flash floods, and road blockages, especially in vulnerable mountain regions.

Red and orange alerts have been issued for select regions depending on forecast severity.
With hilly terrains already saturated from recent rains, authorities fear a spike in landslides, rockfalls, and road blockages. The Char Dham Yatra routes, including the stretches leading to Kedarnath, Badrinath, Yamunotri, and Gangotri, are being continuously monitored. In vulnerable zones, earthmovers and rescue personnel have been stationed in advance.
