Railways cleaned, gatekeeper was removed
After the accident, the local people accused the railway gatekeeper of negligence. However, Southern Railway has said that the school bus driver had appealed to the gatekeeper to forcibly open the gate. Railways say that the gatekeeper did not close the gate only at the behest of the driver, which led to the accident. After primary investigation, the gatekeeper of Semmanguupam gate has been suspended. Railway police also reached the spot. JCB has been ordered to remove the bus.
