It seems like Aamir Khan’s Sitaare Zameen Par is finally slowing down after a solid two-week run. The film, directed by RS Prasanna, has seen its lowest single-day collection yet. On the other hand, Brad Pitt’s F1 is still holding its ground at the Indian box office despite facing stiff competition.
On Day 13, Sitaare Zameen Par earned Rs 2.75 crore, dropping from Rs 3.75 crore on both Monday and Tuesday. Even so, the film has crossed Rs 130 crore in India. Its second weekend was much stronger, pulling in Rs 12.6 crore on Saturday and Rs 14.5 crore on Sunday.

The box office race is heating up with new competitors. Kajol’s horror film Maa, directed by Vishal Furia, is pulling its own audience. And from July 4, two big releases will hit theatres, Anurag Basu’s Metro… In Dino and the Hindi version of Jurassic World: Rebirth, starring Scarlett Johansson. These releases could slow down Sitaare Zameen Par even more in the coming days.
Despite the recent dip, Sitaare Zameen Par is still one of the top-performing Hindi films of the year. Whether it can cross the Rs 150 crore mark now depends on its third weekend performance.
Brad Pitt’s F1 Holds Strong At Indian Box Office
While Sitaare Zameen Par is cooling down, Brad Pitt’s F1 is running steady. After nearly a week in theatres, it has collected Rs 32 crore in India. That’s a solid result for a Hollywood film facing strong local competition.
According to Sacnilk, F1 opened with Rs 5.5 crore on Friday. It gained momentum over the weekend, collecting Rs 7.75 crore on Saturday and Rs 8.15 crore on Sunday. Weekdays usually bring big drops, but F1 held steady with Rs 3.35 crore on Monday, Rs 3.75 crore on Tuesday, and Rs 3.5 crore on Wednesday.

English-language shows have been doing particularly well, especially in the evenings and nights. Tamil screenings also helped push the numbers up, performing better than the Hindi-dubbed versions in some cities.
With fresh competition this weekend, both films will face new challenges. The next few days will show whether Aamir Khan starrer Sitaare Zameen Par can bounce back and if F1 can continue its steady pace.
