PM Modi and President John Mahama
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who visited the African country of Ghana, held a meeting with President Mahama today. Both sides signed four agreements in many areas including culture and traditional medicine. PM Modi said that President Mahama and I have decided to give bilateral relations a comprehensive partnership status.
Announcing PM Modi said, 'Today we have decided to double ICCR Scholarships for Ghana. Work will be done to establish a Skill Development Center for the Vocational Education of the youth. In the agriculture area, we will be happy to cooperate in President Mahama ji's Feed GHANA program.
Four important agreements
1- Encouraged mutual understanding and partnership of two countries through programs focused on art, music, dance, literature and heritage. 2- For certification in certification and quality control between the Bureau of Indian Standards and Ghana Standards Authority. 3- Ghana's ITAM (Institute of Traditional & Alternative Medicine) and India's ITRA (Institute of Teaching & Research in Ayurveda) promoted partnership in education, training and research. 4- Review of bilateral cooperation and establish a permanent platform to regular and institutionalize high-level dialogues.
Major announcements
Extension in scholarships- Intellectual Technical and Economic Cooperation (ITEC) and ICCR scholarship will be doubled, which will give Ghana students an opportunity to study in India.
Skill Development Center- Youth Skill Development Center will be established in Ghana.
Feed GHANA Program- In the agriculture sector, he committed to provide support under the Initiative of Mahama.
Jan Aushadhi Kendra- It was proposed to provide cheap and reliable medicines facilities for better health services.
Vaccine Hub- There was a discussion on setting up vaccine production centers at Ghana, India is ready for support.
Digital Payment- Plan to expand UPI in the area respectively.
Defense Cooperation- Ghana appreciation in anti-terrorism efforts, as well as the decision to further strengthen cooperation under the 'Security Through Solidarity' mantra.
Talk on many issues with President Mahama
While sharing a post on social media, PM Modi said, 'The conversation with President John Droni Mahama was very beneficial. We have extended our relations to a wide partnership, which will be beneficial for the people of our countries. We discussed ways to improve business and economic relations. Fintech, skill development, healthcare and cooperation in other such fields were also discussed '.

On the other hand, Foreign Ministry spokesman Randhir Jaiswal said on X, 'Prime Minister Narendra Modi held extensive talks with President John Mahama at Ghana's prestigious Jubilee House. The two leaders confirmed the melodious and timeline relations between India and Ghana and discussed ways to increase cooperation in major areas including trade and investment, capacity building, defense and safety, digital technology, UPI, agriculture, pharma, mining, infrastructure and people. He reiterated his commitment to democratic values, global South solidarity, south-south cooperation and shared view for sustainable development and global peace.

PM Modi's grand welcome in Ghana
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who reached Ghana, was given a grand welcome. For the first time in three decades, a Prime Minister of India has reached Ghana. On reaching Ghana, PM Modi was given 21 cannon salute with the Guard of Honor. Along with this, he was also awarded Ghana's highest civilian honor 'The Officer of the Order of the Star of Ghana'.
