In Himachal Pradesh, the police of any district will no longer be able to arrest any government official or employee without the approval of the state government. The state government sent this bill to the President for approval. President Draupadi Murmu has approved this bill. After approval, this bill has now become a law, for which the Sukhu government of Himachal Pradesh has issued a notification.
However, government employees will be arrested without permission from the government in case of being caught red -handed with bribe, drugs or in any other criminal activities, while permission will have to be obtained from the government before arrest during investigation in a possible incident. After that the concerned officer or employee can be arrested.
Under this new rule, constables, head constables who are admitted to the police have now come in the state cadre. Under the new rule, the sections of Police Act-2007 have been changed. This includes sections 4, 25, 65 and 95. The Law Department has issued a notification in this regard.
Constable and head now in state cadre
Under this new rule, more than 35 thousand grade-2 police constables and head constables working in the state can be transferred to any district and the new recruitment will be done according to the recruitment and promotion rules made by the state government. The government says that this new rule will increase the quality of work of the police department.
What were the rules first?
In the earlier rules, police constables, head constables used to come in the district cadre. He was able to reshuffle in his district itself. Because of this, they lived in the same district for a long time, due to which the work in the same district was also affected and people had to face problems.
