After all, the monsoon has entered Maharashtra (Southwest Monsoon). The South-West monsoon has made a strong knock in the southern areas of Konkan (Konkan in Maharashtra).
‘Yerre-yere pavsa tula deto paisa…. paus aala motha’. In Maharashtra, the children of farmers eagerly wait for the monsoon rains by singing this poem. This wait is over now. After all, monsoon Maharashtra (Southwest Monsoon) has been entered. The Southwest Monsoon has hit Konkan (Konkan in Maharashtra) has made its strong knock in the southern areas. India Meteorological Department (IMD) has announced it. The Meteorological Department has predicted torrential rains for two days in some parts of western Maharashtra including Konkan. Due to lack of favorable environment for the last ten days, the pace of monsoon had slowed down. But today (June 10, Friday) the Meteorological Department informed about the arrival of monsoon in Maharashtra.
Crossing the border to Goa, the monsoon has reached Vengurla in South Konkan. This time the monsoon had reached Kerala two days before its scheduled time i.e. on 29 May. During this, due to the high humidity in the Arabian Sea, it was estimated that the monsoon would arrive in Maharashtra in five-six days. But after some time the pace of monsoon slowed down. By 31 May, the monsoon had reached Karwar in Karnataka and a little earlier than Goa. After that it was not able to progress further. Then on Thursday, the Meteorological Department announced that once again the right environment has been prepared for the monsoon and it can enter Maharashtra in 24 hours. This prediction of the Meteorological Department proved to be correct and on Friday the monsoon entered Maharashtra.

Torrential rains are happening in Konkan and Western Maharashtra
Due to the moisture-laden winds of the Southwest Monsoon coming from the Arabian Sea, at present, it is raining in other areas including Konkan and Western Maharashtra of Maharashtra. In the next two days, the intensity of rain is going to increase in Konkan and Western Maharashtra. Monsoon rains have made presence in Goa covering most parts of Karnataka. After this it reached Vengurla in southern Konkan. The Meteorological Department has told that the right environment is ready for the journey of monsoon even beyond this.
