Tension spread during the procession of Muharram in Gopalganj and Katihar districts of Bihar, due to which there have been clashes between two groups in two different incidents. This information was given by the officials. In Manjha area of Gopalganj, there was a dispute between two groups over showing tricks during a religious procession. A person suffered minor injuries in the clash. This incident took place in Manjha area in the afternoon.
Gopalganj District Magistrate Pawan Kumar Sinha said, 'People of two groups involved in the procession clashed with each other. A person suffered minor injuries. He was rushed to the nearest hospital, where his condition is out of danger.
Here, officials say that a clash has been seen in the new Tola area of Katihar. As soon as the procession of Muharram procession reached near Mahavir temple in this area, there was a clash between members of two communities. During the clash, stones were thrown on each other from both sides and some vehicles were vandalized.

The security forces present on the spot tried to control the situation, but some miscreants attacked them, after which they had to run away from there and save their lives. Katihar District Magistrate Manesh Kumar Meena said, 'The situation was immediately controlled. No one was hurt in this incident. People involved in the violence have been identified and strict action will be taken against them. At the same time, internet, social media and messaging service were banned for 24 hours on the instructions of the Home Department (Special Branch) to stop rumors and restore peace.
Appeal to maintain peace, increased deployment of police
Katihar district administration said, 'Appeal to Katihar residents should not pay attention to rumors, keep peace. The district administration, Katihar appeals to all of you for cooperation. Former Deputy CM cum Nagar MLA Tarakeshwar Prasad also appealed to the people to maintain peace. He assured that the administration is completely alert and action will be taken soon by identifying the culprits. At present, the deployment of police force in the entire area has been increased. In view of the tension, top officials are constantly meeting the peace committee. CCTV footage is being investigated around the temple so that stones can be identified.
