Bihar’s Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary has made a significant announcement regarding the state’s employment and development roadmap, stating that the NDA government plans to provide jobs and employment opportunities to 1 crore people in Bihar between 2025 and 2030.

Addressing a press conference, Choudhary said, “In 2020, we promised to deliver 10 lakh government jobs and 10 lakh employment opportunities. We’ve exceeded that and have reached a total of 50 lakh jobs and opportunities so far. Now, under the leadership of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, the upcoming NDA government is preparing to scale this up to 1 crore employments in the next term.”
Skill University in Honour of Karpoori Thakur
As part of the initiative, the Bihar government will also establish a Skill University named after Bharat Ratna Karpoori Thakur, aimed at enhancing the employability of the state’s youth.
Migration Drops, Focus on Infrastructure and Retention
Highlighting improvements in infrastructure and electricity, the Deputy CM claimed that migration from Bihar has significantly reduced, stating, “During Lalu Yadav’s time, the migration rate was 11%. Today, it has dropped below 4%. People now migrate not out of compulsion but for better job prospects.”
Choudhary added that the government plans to conduct a door-to-door survey over the next five years to identify individuals who migrated and why, in order to create job opportunities within Bihar itself.
“We want to ensure that no youth has to leave Bihar due to lack of opportunity. We will provide them with employment right here,” he said, underlining the NDA’s renewed commitment to employment-driven governance in the state.
