India closed 2025.
10 central trade unions and their colleagues have called for a Bharat Bandh on 9 July. It consists of more than 25 crore employees. They say that the government will demonstrate against the anti -labor, anti -farmer and corporate pro -corporate policies. This is likely to affect banking, insurance, postal, coal mining, road transport, construction and transport in many states. This can also cause problems for the common man. Let's know about this Bharat Bandh in detail.
Yesterday's Bharat Bandh will include AITII TRADE Union Congress, HMS, CITU, INTUC, Inutuk, TUCC, AICCTU, LPF and UTUC. The United Kisan Morcha and the United Front of Agricultural Labor Unions have also supported the strike. Therefore, the effect of this shutdown is likely to appear in rural areas as well. However, the RSS -linked organization Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh will not be included in the bandh.
Farmers and laborers will be involved from the country
All India Trade Union Congress leader Amarjeet Kaur said, more than 25 crore employees are expected to be involved in this bandh. Farmers and workers from all over the country will join this bandh. Also, Harbhajan Singh Sidhu, leader of Hind Mazdoor Sabha, said, this strike is likely to affect banking, postal services, coal mines, factories and inter-state transport services.
Why has employees strike?
Unions who called for the strike say that we had handed over a charter of 17 demands to Labor Minister Mansukh Mandavia, but it has not been considered yet. The government has not been organizing the annual labor conference for the last 10 years and through the new labor code, efforts are being made to weaken labor unions, increase work hours and reduce the rights of workers, due to which this strike has been called.
Meanwhile, trade unions had earlier called for a similar nationwide strike on 26 November, 2020, 28-29 March 2022 and 16 February 2024. Now a similar strike has been called in 2025.
