Raj Thackeray and Uddhav Thackeray
The politics of Maharashtra is seen taking a new turn. Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray and MNS chief Raj Thackeray appeared on a stage on Saturday after 20 years. Meanwhile, Uddhav said that we have come together and will live together. Not only this, he also said that we will regain from the municipal body to the power of Maharashtra. In this way, Uddhav Thackeray has clearly indicated to join hands with Raj Thackeray, but Raj Thackeray has not opened his cards.
Raj Thackeray, who came with Uddhav Thackeray on Marathi Asmita, did not say anything about the alliance, after which questions arose that what would be the future of political chemistry among the Thackeray brothers? Not only Maharashtra, but the eyes of the country are on the fact that the political gallows of two cousins Uddhav Thackeray and Raj Thackeray will move in which direction. Will the formula of the alliance between the two parties be formed or will the path of political merger be found?
How did Uddhav-Raj come away and close?
Shiv Sena founder is the son of Bal Thackeray, Uddhav, the nephew is Raj Thackeray. In this way Uddhav and Raj Thackeray are cousins in the relationship. The two leaders used to raise their voice for Marathi Manus on the same platform, but Bal Thackeray extended Uddhav as his political heir, then Raj Thackeray separated from Shiv Sena in 2005 and formed his new party in the name of Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS). After this, Uddhav and Raj started doing their separate politics, but after the 2024 assembly elections, the political situation of Maharashtra has changed.
About two months ago, Raj Thackeray gave an interview to film director Mahesh Manjrekar and said that there are nothing in front of the interest of Maharashtra. Uddhav Thackeray, who was suffering from defeat in the assembly elections, saw an opportunity in Raj Thackeray's statement and his entire party caught it. Meanwhile, after the Maharashtra government issued an order to teach Hindi as the third language in primary classes, Raj Thackeray and Uddhav Thackeray started protesting in unison.
Thackeray Brothers came together on Marathi Asmita
Raj Thackeray announced to take out a protest march to Azad Maidan in Mumbai against the decision of Fadnavis government, after which Uddhav Thackeray also filled the shout. Uddhav's close Sanjay Raut talked to Raj Thackeray and agreed to take out a protest march on July 5. Seeing the displeasure of the Marathi society, the government pulled back its steps, after which the Thackeray brothers decided to celebrate the victory festival on the protest march on July 5.
Raj Thackeray had clearly stated that on July 5, Vijay Utsav will be limited to the identity of Marathi and Maharashtra only. Due to this, both of them decided not to display any flag, symbol or hoarding of the party. In this way, the stake of maintaining Marathi Asmita went away. After 20 years, a tremendous political chemistry between cousin Uddhav and Raj Thackeray was seen on the grand stage built at Varli's National Sports Complex Dome.
There will be an alliance between Uddhav-Raj Thackeray?
After two decades, the Thackeray brothers came on a stage on Saturday. Raj Thackeray persisted on his point and did not give any indication to any political alliance, but after him, Uddhav Thackeray gave a political color to the entire rally and said clearly that he has come together and will remain together and will grab power in the entire Maharashtra including Mumbai. Uddhav even said that we have come together and will live together. Moving beyond this, he said that we will gain power from the municipal body to Maharashtra, but Raj Thackeray did not say anything about the alliance.
After Uddhav's announcement, Raj Thackeray did not have an opportunity to react, but after Uddhav's speech, the two families were indicated by the family Manomilan by offering the abuses of Raj's son Amit Thackeray and Uddhav's son Aditya Thackeray. It is being said that Uddhav's Shiv Sena and Raj Thackeray's MNS can form a mutual alliance, but no formula was kept in front.
Not a clarity about coalition and merger?
If Raj Thackeray and Uddhav Thackeray come together, there is no clarity about what it would be like. Uddhav Thackeray definitely indicated to stay together, but Raj Thackeray did not open his cards. In this way, both parties will have an alliance or it may happen that both parties will merge and form a new form of Shiv Sena. The question is also whether both these Mahavikas will be a part of the Aghadi alliance?
However, the presence of NCP (SP) Working President Supriya Sule on the July 5 rally shows that she will not have any problem. But will the Congress be able to tolerate the aggressive style of Raj Thackeray, it will be a matter to be seen. Due to this, doubts are also arising about the alliance of both. Apart from this, there are many other reasons which can be an obstacle in the union of Uddhav and Raj. Even if Uddhav and Raj Thackeray decide to come together, the more difficult it is to say as it is easy to say a political alliance between the MNS and Shiv Sena (UBT).
How will seat sharing to political coordination
Uddhav Thackeray and Raj Thackeray have a reconciliation at a time when the local body elections in Maharashtra, especially the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) are on the head. However, the kind of indications given in Vijay rally do not guarantee that in the upcoming Mumbai Municipal Corporation or other local body elections, both brothers will have an alliance in parties. Apart from the stubborn trend of both, coalition politics in Maharashtra can also become a hindrance behind this.
The Congress is the main constituent party in the Maha Vikas Aghadi alliance. No major Congress leader is seen in the Vijay rally is an indication that a national party Congress does not want to lose his Mumbai-Thane's non-Marathi-speaking vote bank only in the political round of Marathi language and Marathi Asmita. Especially when there is a big difference in the political style of both parties. If Raj Thackeray's political style is aggressive, Uddhav Thackeray is trying to take everyone along.
Raj Thackeray has a strong support base in the same area, which has a political basis of Uddhav Thackeray on Marathi dominated areas of Mumbai, Thane, Nashik and Pune. Therefore, it will not be easy to distribute seats in both parties. Municipal corporation elections are to be held in many other cities including Mumbai, Thane, Nashik, Nagpur and Pune at the end of the year. These local elections will be the right opportunity for the testing of Shiv Sena UBT and MNS unity, even though the leaders of both parties have come on a platform, it will be a matter to be seen whether the workers of both parties are able to work together or not.
Battle of existence for brand Thackeray
After Partition in the Shiv Sena and the defeat in the Maharashtra assembly elections last year, Uddhav Thackeray is well aware that BMC elections are a do or die fight for his group. The undivided Shiv Sena has captured BMC for 25 years, which is the richest municipal body in the country. This is also a fight for existence for MNS, because she could not win a single seat in the assembly elections. Alliances with Shiv Sena (UBT) and favorable results in municipal elections will help it to get back the lost land.
Uddhav Thackeray knows that the victory of the Shiv Sena led by BJP and Eknath Shinde in the municipal elections will end his political career. While Raj Thackeray is 57 years old, Uddhav Thackeray is 65 years old. To save such Thackeray brand, you can join political hands, but what will be its formula, it is not completely clear. This is the reason that even after Uddhav Thackeray said openly, Raj Thackeray has not opened his cards.
