Ahmedabad aircraft accident.
An investigation by India's Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) revealed that both the engines of Air India's Boeing 787-8 aircraft were closed at an interval of about a second as soon as they flew from Ahmedabad, due to which the accident occurred. The analysis of the cockpit voice recorder also revealed that the pilot engine was confused in the cutoff case. The Air India accident related to the Air India accident in Ahmedabad on June 12 has released a 15 -page preliminary report.
Aaib has not issued any security recommendation for Operators and Manufacturers of Boeing 787-8 aircraft or GE GENX-1B engine.
Signs of improvement in engine 1 have appeared. After the initial failure, his main speed slowed down and then went in the opposite direction, and then moved towards improvement.
The engine 2 could not be stable. Even after repeated attemspts again, despite repeated efforts to supply fuel, the decline in core speed could not be stopped.
During the flight 13:38:42 IST (08:08:42 UTC) Plane speed reached 180 knots IAS. Soon after this, the fuel cutoff switches of both engines again went to 'Cutoff' from 'Run'.
Relght AttemSPTS attempts were recorded. The fuel switches of engine 1 and 2 were brought to the position of 'run' in a few seconds. The EGT of both engines recorded an increase, indicating the process of re -ignition.
The conversation recorded in the cockpit makes it clear that there was confusion. A pilot asked surprised, did you turn off the aircraft? The other immediately replied, no, I did nothing, which probably indicates mutual misconception.
Engine and aircraft flight recorder (EAFR) data has confirmed that the N2 value of both engines had gone down at a minimum passive speed at the time of the incident.
AAIB reported that the previous engine and aircraft flight recorders (EAFR) were severely damaged in the accident. Due to which it was not possible to recover data from traditional methods.
AAIB informed that additional evidence will be reviewed in the next phase of investigation and more information is being sought from different stakeholders for this.
Flight data suggests that EGT increased during the efforts of Relght Attemspts. According to the engine and aircraft flight recorder (EAFR) data, when the fuel was switched to a 'run' position, the EGT level increased in both engines. This is an indication that the combustion process started during the efforts of Relght AttemSPTS.
