The Bihar Public Grievance Redressal Rights Act for development with justice in the field of governance and administrative reforms in Bihar was implemented on 5 June 2016 itself. Administrative reforms are being made rapidly towards realizing the vision of state Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. Public grievances received under this Act are ensured by the Public Grievance Redressal Officer in the appointed time (60 working day). In this sequence, this story is not a insurance payment but the sensitivity of the government, the welfare of public welfare and the extraordinary victory of the struggle of a father.
Kameshwar Prasad Arya who is a resident of Anisabad area of Patna. After losing his late son Prabhat Shankar, he not only endured immense sorrow but also a long and patient struggle for justice. Prabhat Shankar was working as a panchayat employment servant in Bakhtiyarpur block and died in an unfortunate railway accident on 14 August 2023.
In this hour of grief, the family was the only support for the family, which was provided in an agreement between Bihar Rural Development Society (BRDS) and HDFC Bank. Kameshwar Prasad submitted an insurance claim on time, but no hearing was held for months.
When the matter was presented to the Departmental Public Grievance Redressal Officer, the hearing started and the report was sought from the BRDs, in which the BRDs sent a request letter for the payment of insurance to the bank. When the matter was brought to the notice of the Rural Development Department, the Commissioner MNREGA took it seriously and gave clear instructions to the top officials of BRDS and HDFC Bank that the dependents of the late Prabhat Shankar should be benefited soon.
As a result of hearing in Public Grievance Redressal, an insurance amount of ₹ 10 lakh was finally paid by HDFC Bank to the bank account of Prabhat Shankar's dependents. This was not only economic relief for Kameshwar Prasad, but it also became an example that if the grievance redressal system intervenes on time, it is possible to redress the complaint of the common citizen quickly.
Kameshwar Prasad Arya finally got justice due to the effective implementation of the strong provisions of the Public Grievance Redressal Rights Act. Expressing happiness over this by Kameshwar Prasad Arya, it was said that due to the implementation of the Public Grievance Redressal Act, the payment of their pending compensation was so easily possible.
