UPSC has released the forms of Civil Services Prelims 2023. February 21 is the last date of application. This exam is to be held across the country on May 28. The youth who are giving the exam again, they are aware of it, but the youth who are trying for the first time, UPSC Prelims Exam Must have knowledge of syllabus.

How will be the exam format?
The youth will face two question papers in the Civil Service Prelims Exam. The first question paper is of General Studies and the second is of Civil Services Aptitude Test. In English it is called Civil Services Aptitude Test. In short, it is also called CSAT. This is only qualifying paper.
Both the question papers are of 200-200 marks. The first question paper (General Studies) consists of 100 questions of 2-2 marks each while the second paper (CSAT) has a tradition of asking 80 questions of 2.5-2.5 marks each. Objective type questions will be asked in both the question papers. Four answers will be written for each question, out of which only one can be correct.
There is negative marking in this exam. If you give three wrong answers, then marks equal to one correct answer will be deducted. Therefore, carefully give the same answer, on which you are sure.
To pass the preliminary examination, any candidate is required to obtain only 33 percent marks in the CSAT paper. On getting marks less than this, the candidate is considered failed. The cut-off is decided only on the basis of the first paper i.e. General Studies.
UPSC CSE Exam Syllabus
Paper-I: Paper-I of the Preliminary Examination is related to General Studies. Its syllabus is something like this.
- Current events of national and international importance.
- general Science
- History of India and Indian National Movement.
- Natural, social, economic geography of India and the world.
- Indian Polity and Governance: Constitution, Political System, Panchayati Raj, Public Policy, Rights Issues etc.
- Economic and Social Development: Sustainable development, poverty, inclusion, demography, social sector initiatives etc.
- General issues related to environmental ecology, bio-diversity and climate change, which do not require subject specialization.
Paper-II: Paper-II of the Preliminary Examination is related to CSAT. Its syllabus is something like this.

- Questions related to numbers and their relations, order of expansion, etc., interpretation of data (charts, graphs, tables, sufficiency of data, etc.) at the 10th class level.
