The Delhi government has recently launched Saheli Smart Card for women. This is a digital travel pass which will have the name and photo of the cardholder. With this card, 12 years and above women and transgender will be able to travel free in Delhi's DTC and cluster buses. This card has been brought under the National Common Common Mobility Card (NCMC) system and will replace the old pink paper ticket. This will make the journey more secure, easy and paperless.
Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said in the budget speech that there was corruption in the old ticket system. Now this smart card system is more secure and transparent. DTC in Delhi has 44 depots (one in Noida) and 3,266 buses run, including 1,950 electric and 1,694 CNG buses. The government is preparing to implement this card from August 15.
Documents required for friend smart card
For making cards, it is necessary to give Aadhaar card, PAN card, Delhi residence certificate, passport size photo and other documents related to KYC as per the demand of the bank. After KYC is completed, the bank will send the card to your address. The government wants this process to be corruption-free and completely digital, so DTC itself is not issuing any card.
