Despite heavy bloodbath on exchanges, Oriental Aromatics Ltd rose over 10% as the company announced that the environment ministry has given its environmental clearance for a proposed greenfield project by Oriental Aromatics & Sons Ltd to manufacture specialty chemicals . It is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the company.
The Nifty 50 index was trading at 16,283.80, down 1.18 per cent. Tata Consumer Products, Titan Company Limited and Asian Paints were the top gainers on the Nifty 50 index. On the other hand, Bajaj Finance, Wipro and Kotak Mahindra Bank were dragging the market down in the opening session.
Today all the sectoral indices were seen in red mark. BSE IT, BSE Tech and BSE Metals were the most affected sectors with losses of around 1.75 per cent. On the other hand, IOL Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals Ltd., Hikal Ltd. and Welspun Enterprises Ltd. were trending stocks on the BSE as they gained over 5 per cent each.
