Eye infection in rainy season: While the rainy season brings coolness and relief, at this time the risk of many eye diseases also increases due to the increase in moisture, dirt and bacteria-virus. Especially problems like conjunctivitis (eye coming), sty (pimples), dry eye and allergies become common in this season. These infections may be due to touching the eyes with dirty hands, going to the eyes or exposure to an infected person. Therefore, it is very important to take special care of the eyes in the monsoon.

When there is strong sunlight after the rain in the monsoon, moisture in the atmosphere increases. Due to increasing moisture, the virus and bacteria create a perfect environment. Then in this season, many problems related to the eyes spread rapidly. Viruses and bacteria spread rapidly through air and water in the rain, due to which problems like burning sensation, redness, itching and swelling are common.

Why eye diseases spread in this season

1 conjunctivitis

It is the most common infection that spreads rapidly in the monsoon. It is also called Eye Flu. It is a viral or bacterial infection that affects the outer layer (conjunctiva) of the eye.

Symptoms: Eyes turning red, water fall or viscosity, itching and irritation, sticking eyelids especially in the morning.

2 stye pimples or boils

Small swelling or pimples on the eyelids of the eyes is called sty. It is caused by bacteria and can spread by touching the eye with dirty hands.

Symptoms: Painful pimples, swelling and light redness on the edge of the eyelid, heaviness in the eyelids.

3 Dry Eye Syndrome

During the rainy season, the problem of dryness in the eyes can also increase due to continuous screen and moisture.

Symptoms: Eye dryness, prick or sand -like feeling, burning and tired of the eyes.

4 allergic conjunctivitis

In the monsoon, some people become allergic due to pollen particles, dust or fungal infections.

Symptoms: Rapid itching in the eyes, redness, water, desire to rub the eye again and again.

Protect the eyes with these precautions-

– Do not touch the eyes with dirty hands. Be sure to wash your hands after coming from outside.

– Do not use one's eyes medicine, handkerchief or towel.

If the rain water goes into the eyes, then wash it immediately with clean water.

– Those wearing contact lenses should take special care in this season.

If there is irritation or redness in the eyes, do not treat yourself, see the doctor immediately.
