Terrorists in infiltration into India through Nepal.
After the Pahalgam terror attack, the Pakistan -backed terrorist organizations are once again in the process of infiltration into India. A top Nepal official has warned that terrorist groups like Jaish-e-Mohammed and Lashkar-e-Taiba can use Nepal's land for attacks in India. This statement came at a time when India recently destroyed terrorist launchpads in Pakistan and PoK under 'Operation Sindoor'.
Terrorism in South Asia in Kathmandu: Sunil Bahadur Thapa said this in a program on the challenge of regional peace and security. The program was organized by Nepal Institute for International Cooperation and Engagement.
Open limit is becoming a reason for anxiety
Concerns were also raised about the open border and visa-free system between Nepal and India. According to Thapa, terrorists can take advantage of this system and enter India. Referring to the Pahalgam attack, Nepal MP Shishir Khanal said that now India and Nepal will have to strengthen the border management. He suggested that hi -tech monitoring technology, intelligence sharing and joint anti -terrorism operation is needed.
'Not only India, Nepal is also suffering
Former Nepal's former Defense Minister Minendra Rizal said that not only India but also Nepal and Pakistan are also suffering losses due to support to terrorism from Pakistan. He said that terrorist attacks also have a direct impact on Nepal. An example of this is the Pahalgam attack in which a Nepali citizen also died.
Terrorist connections have already been seen in Nepal
Many old cases related to terror have also been reported on Nepal's land. According to a news from The Week, in 2017, SSB was arrested from the Sonauli border of Pakistani terrorist. In 1999, the IC 814 flight, which was going from Kathmandu to Delhi, had hijacked the terrorists. On 18 May 2025, the head of Nepal module of Lashkar-e-Taiba was murdered in Sindh province of Pakistan. All these incidents have raised serious questions about security on the Indo-Nepal border.
