Ben was a two -time national champion wrestler at Missouri University in 2006 and 2007. He started his career as a professional MMA fighter in 2009. He later won the Welterweight Championship for Bellator and One Championship. Askaren fought three times in UFC at the end of his MMA career. His record was 19-2, which includes a no-contest. Askaren announced his retirement after his tenure in the UFC.
