Taking a major step towards increasing India's indigenous defense capabilities, Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) is preparing for the first live firing test of the Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) from Tejas MK1A from Tejas MK1A.
According to HAL's official sources, the test from Tejas Mark-1 A will be a long jump in this project. This important step in the integration of advanced weapons in upgraded Tejas MK1A will be considerable. Tejas MK1A is considered to be the backbone of India's Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) program.
Many big upgrade in Tejas MK1A
The weapon MK1 missile, which has been developed by DRDO, has already been successfully tested with Tejas MK1. At that time, ELM-2032 Multi-Mode Fire Control Radar (FCR) of ELTA Systems Limited was installed in Tejas MK1. But Tejas has been upgraded to MK1A, such as advance ELM-2052 Active Electronically Scandal Eri (AESA) Fire Control Radar and New Digital Flight Control Computer (DFCC). Due to these changes, all major air-to-air missiles including Astra MK1 are required to re-test and calibrate with new radar and avionics system.
ELM-2052 AESA Radar Tejas is the great strength of MK1A. It gives better protection against more detection range, multi-target tracking and electronic countenance than the old radar. These features are very important in modern air war and Tejas makes MK1A more accurate and aware.
Testing will be held in August
According to sources, the test firing in August will prove that how well the new AESA radar weapon is able to guide MK1. After this, the path of operational certification of Tejas MK1A will be almost clear. This test is one of the last necessary stops before Tejas MK1A becomes completely operational in the Indian Airforce.
The successful integration of the weapon MK1 missile with Tejas MK1A will give a new height to the air superiority capacity of the Indian Air Force, especially on the forward airbase of the border. The range of more than 100 kilometers of weapon MK1 and advanced guidance systems enable it to eliminate enemy's airborn thrrates with high prince, that too in a difficult electronic countenance environment.
The Tejas MK1A program faced some challenges in engine delivery and radar integration, but despite this, HAL is committed to giving 12 Tejas MK1A in 2025. The first Tejas MK1A from Nashik Production Line is going to roll out by the end of July.
