Special intensive revision started in the voter list of Election Commission in Bihar.
The work of the first phase of the special intensive revision (SIR) campaign conducted by the Election Commission in Bihar is almost complete. Under this phase, the work of printing and distribution of counting form has been almost completed and the form has been delivered to most of the electors across the state. According to the State Election Office, a total of 1.69 crore (21.46%) calculation forms have been collected by 6 pm on July 6, while more than 65 lakh forms have been submitted in the last 24 hours. There are still 19 days left in this process, due to which the speed of depositing the form is likely to be faster.
The Election Commission has clarified that there has been no change in the SIR instructions issued on 24 June 2025, while some political parties and organizations are spreading misleading publicity and rumors about this process.
The Commission reiterated that the format to be released on 1 August 2025 will include the names of the same voters whose forms will be received on time.
Relief given to voters
The statement issued by the Election Commission said that the last date for submission of documents to the electors has been set by 25 July 2025. The Election Commission has once again clarified that if the documents remain incomplete, the Electoral Registration Officer (ERO) can get the necessary documents during the period of claims. Apart from this, voters can also make the form verification without submitting compulsory documents, and a decision will be taken on the basis of local investigation.
7.25% form uploaded from ECI Net portal and app
The statement issued by the Election Commission said that 7.25% forms have been uploaded through ECI Net portal and app so far. Voters can download partially filled forms through the Commission's website (https://voters.eci.gov.in) and ECI-NET app and can also upload yourself.
According to the Election Commission, 77,895 BLOs across the state are helping voters to fill the form. Pictures of many BLO voters are clicking on the spot and uploading them so that voters do not need to be photographed separately.
Additionally, 20,603 additional BLOs are being deployed and about 4 lakh volunteers, including government employees, NCC cadets, NSS members and others, have been specially deployed to assist the elderly, disabled and sick voters.
Administrative team deployment in all districts
For the successful operation of the SIR process, 239 Electoral Registration Officer (ERO), 963 Assistant ERO, 38 District Election Officer (DEO) and State Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) are dedicated in 243 assembly constituencies of the state. At the same time, 1,54,977 booth level agents (BLA) appointed by various political parties are also cooperating in this process.
