Indian bowling and fielding once again disappointed.Image Credit Source: PTI

The same story is currently being repeated in the Test series between India and England in England. Team India's batsmen are continuously scoring runs, but in bowling and along with the same continuing performance in fielding are being seen. In the Leeds Test, there was a major reason for the defeat of poor bowling and even a worse fielding Team India. The same situation happened during the second Test match at Edgbaston, where Team India scored a big score like 587 runs but then the indiscipline of the bowlers and the rest of the players in the fielding gave England a chance to return.

The two days of the second Test match which started on July 2 at Edgbaston, Birmingham, was completely named after Team India. Team India scored 587 runs on the basis of captain Shubman Gill's historic double century. Apart from them, Ravindra Jadeja and Yashasvi Jaiswal also played a great innings. After this, the bowlers also took 3 wickets for just 25 runs, giving Team India a great start. Similarly, the beginning of the third day was also excellent for the Indian team and in the second over, the wickets of Joe Root and Ben Stokes fell.

Despite this good, Team India once again disappointed with its fielding. In the last Test match, Team India dropped at least 7-8 catches, as a result of which Team India used to pay for defeat. In Edgbaston, Team India started well in this matter and captain Shubman Gill, KL Rahul and Karun Nair caught caught in the slip without any mistake. But on the third day, Team India drove 3 catches one by one. Out of this, Jamie Smith got life twice, while once the catch of Harry Brook was dropped.

Washington Sundar first dropped Smith's catch on his own ball. It took place in the 42nd over of the innings and at that time Smith was playing for 91 runs. Smith had already attacked Team India a lot and taking advantage of this opportunity, he scored a century in just 80 balls. After this, in the 54th over, Nitish Kumar Reddy again missed the catch of Smith on the first ball. This time Rishabh Pant lost a little difficult opportunity. Smith was then on 121 runs and soon he completed 150 runs. Similarly, a catch of Harry Brook was also missed. On the ball of Ravindra Jadeja, he played a cut shot and went towards Gill standing in a fast catch slip but he could not grab it and the ball hit his head. Brook was on 63 runs and then he completed a great century.

But not only the catch drop, but the bowlers of Team India also disappointed with their discipline. Indian bowlers made a total of 10 no-balls within just 40 overs. Out of this, 4-4 no-ball stars Pesar Mohammad Siraj and Akash Deep did. Incidentally, both of them took the first 5 wickets. At the same time, 2 no-ball spinner Ravindra Jadeja's account came. This was also more disturbing because the England bowlers made this mistake only 8 times in 151 overs bowling. Obviously, these are tension -giving figures for head coach Gautam Gambhir and bowling coach Morne Morkel.
