PM Modi reached Trinidad and Tobago

Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached Trinidad and Tobago on Thursday (local time) in the second phase of his visit to five countries. He was given a guard of honor at Piyarco International Airport in Port of Spain. He was welcomed by 38 ministers and four MPs along with the Caribbean nation's Prime Minister Kamala Prasad-Bissar. The special thing is that during this time the PM of Trinidad and Tobago appeared in Indian dress.

It is the first bilateral visit to this Caribbean country as PM and is also the first official visit of any Indian PM after 1999. The visit is taking place at the invitation of Trinidad and Tobago Prime Minister Kamla Prasad-Bissar. There was a lot of enthusiasm among the people about PM Modi's visit. There was a glimpse of Indian culture at the airport. People of Indian origin were seen with the tricolor in their hands. The PM greeted him. Traditional dance was also performed during this period.

There will be talk on strengthening bilateral relations

During the visit, PM Modi will interact with the top leadership of Trinidad and Tobago to further strengthen bilateral relations. During his two-day stay from 3 to 4 July, PM Modi will hold a meeting with President Christine Carla Kangalu and Prime Minister Kamla Prasad-Bisser to strengthen relations between the two countries.

In Port of Spain, the High Commission shared a post on social media and said, 'Welcome to Trinidad and Tobago, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi!' He said that the foundation laid during the second Indo-Kaikom Summit will be carried forward. Major areas of discussion include agriculture, information technology, health, pharmaceuticals and renewable energy, which expects concrete results.

He said that many ministers in the new government of Trinidad and Tobago are Indian origin, who are excited to carry forward the benefits of India's development journey. Rajpurohit said that Trinidad and Tobago are the first country in the Caricom region, which has adopted the major UPI platform of India and its implementation process is going on. This journey will be important towards promoting bilateral relations in areas like digital finance, renewable energy, health and IT.
