Amarnath Yatra
The first batch of pilgrims for the Amarnath Yatra left Jammu on Wednesday (June 3) amid tight security. Lieutenant Governor (LG) Manoj Sinha flagged off the batch from Bhagwati Nagar Base Camp. During this time, the devotees kept cheering 'Har Har Mahadev' and 'Bum Bum Bhole'. Around 600 additional companies of paramilitary forces have been deployed to protect pilgrims. Meanwhile, Jammu and Kashmir Police has issued advisory for passengers.
The police has shared a post on social media, which states that all the pilgrims who do Amarnath Yatra 2025 are advised to travel only in the prescribed convoy emanating from Bhagwati Nagar, Batal and Nunwan Base Camp. Along with this, the police has also said that passengers arriving long before the scheduled date are advised to reach first from the day of the journey.

Travel concludes on 9 August
The 38 -day journey will be from both Pahalgam and Baltal routes. The journey will conclude on the next month on 9 August on the day of Rakshabandhan. Every year millions of devotees from all over the country go to visit Baba Amarnath. So far more than 3,31,000 devotees have registered themselves for this year's visit. , Centers have been opened in Saraswati Dham, Vaishnavi Dham, Panchayat Bhawan and Mahajan Sabha in Jammu for immediate registration. These centers are registering 2 thousand devotees daily.

Tight security arrangements regarding travel
Tight security arrangements have been made this time in view of the terrorist attack in Pahalgam. Around 600 additional companies of paramilitary forces have been deployed for security, which is the largest deployment for travel safety so far. Regarding the preparation of the yatra, the officials said that the devotees will be transported to Pahalgam and Baltal base camps amidst traffic restrictions, heavy security arrangements and strong security arrangements on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway. During this period, traffic restrictions will be imposed on different routes from July 2 to August 9.
