Dirty water has stirred up last week in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir. Two people have died of gastroenteritis and diarrhea in Dhar Sakri village of Kotranka sub-division. Apart from this, more than 40 people have fallen ill. Investigations revealed that e-coolie bacteria were present in the water of two springs of the village, which has caused infection in the stomach and urinary tract.
Chief Medical Officer of the area Manohar Lal Rana said that 40 patients have come out from Dhar Sakri and a patient from nearby Trala village. Let me tell you that two women were among those who died, a 75 -year -old was an elderly woman, who already had other diseases. The second was 40-year-old woman, who died of serious dehydration and multi-organ failure.
Administration ordered inquiry
After investigation, the administration immediately took action. A total of five waterfalls have been sealed after getting e-cool bacteria in two springs. Their treatment has also been started. Tap water was found to be safe for drinking. The district administration has appealed to the people not to drink untreated water of the springs. Use only clean and treated water. A public health advice has also been released for this.
