In a recent podcast, Dubey addressed growing speculation around CM Yogi Adityanath’s potential national role. He said, “People vote for Narendra Modi, not Yogi Adityanath. As long as Modi is around, no other leader can claim the Prime Minister’s chair.”

Dubey’s remarks come at a time when many BJP supporters, especially in UP, view Yogi Adityanath as a natural successor to Prime Minister Modi. From Purvanchal to Western UP, and across the nation, the saffron-clad CM has amassed a huge base of supporters who envision him one day hoisting the national flag from the Red Fort.
“Popularity Doesn’t Guarantee Power”
Refuting the idea that popularity alone can determine leadership, Dubey added, “Even leaders like Himanta Biswa Sarma and Devendra Fadnavis are popular, as is Home Minister Amit Shah. But that does not mean they are in the running for PM.”
