India has not yet condemned the Russian aggression on Ukraine and has maintained that the issue should be resolved through diplomacy and dialogue. The way PM Modi is continuously talking to the leaders of both the countries, it seems that perhaps India will be able to end the war between the two countries.

India gave confidence to Ukraine

Putin talks to PM for the 5th time
Ten days after the Zelensky-Modi phone call, Russian President Vladimir Putin spoke to Modi and discussed the state of Ukraine and India-Russia bilateral relations. It was their fifth phone conversation this year since the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Prime Minister Modi did not go to Russia for the annual summit this year. There was no mention of Modi’s now famous statement to Putin in Samarkand that this was “not an era of war”.
Face to face meeting in Glasgow
PM Modi and Zelensky spoke to each other in February and March. Which were mainly about evacuating Indians from the war zone. In his last conversation on October 4, Modi had told the Ukrainian President that there could be no military solution to the Ukraine conflict. The last meeting of the two leaders took place in Glasgow in November 2021 on the occasion of COP-26. In November this year, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar met Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba and discussed ways to end Russia’s war on Ukraine, nuclear concerns and bilateral cooperation. Jaishankar and Kuleba met on the sidelines of the ASEAN-India Summit in Phnom Penh, the capital of Cambodia.
