When the Ottoman Empire broke up after the First World War, the Kurds were promised a separate country, but the agreement was soon canceled. Since then these Kurds keep targeting these areas.
Istanbul’s famous Istiklal shopping street.
In the city where you live, there will be some such place from which you will have unrequited love. It can be a market, it can be a park or the bridge passing over the river Phul. This place is special, people come here to visit. Every city has a heart. This heart also has many enemies. There is also a place in Istanbul, the capital of Turkey, which is very beautiful and also famous. But this place is being injured time and again. This place is Istanbul’s Istiklal Shopping Street. There was a blast here on Sunday evening. The scene is like what is going on in your mind. Six people died and 81 people were injured. to this place ‘The Heart of Istanbul’ is called.
This is not the first time that the heart of Istanbul has been shaken. Even before this he has been injured many times. But this place is so beautiful that it gets decorated again and again and people erase that date and start writing a new text. In the year 2015-16, it was targeted by the enemies of love and peace. There is a long list of such attacks and the history is also very long. Well, we will talk about those historical events and their reasons again but why is this place and its surrounding area repeatedly targeted? The hand of the Kurdish party has come to the fore in the blast that took place last evening. This is the same community whose population is about three crores and they are spread in many countries of the Middle East. They have their own displeasure that even after having a large population, they were not given any country. For this reason this community took up arms.
Istanbul bloody every time
On 12 January 2016, 13 people were killed in a suicide attack in the historic Sultanahmet district of Istanbul. All of them were foreign nationals. The attack took place at 10:20 local time near the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia, an area popular with tourists. The attacker was Nabil Fadli, a Syrian member of the Islamic State. Once again this area of the city became a victim of terrorists. Within minutes, the whole area was filled with screams, splatter of blood and people running here and there. The last major attack on Sultanahmet Square was on 6 January 2015, when a suicide bomber detonated himself at a police station. The DHKP-C initially claimed responsibility for the attack but later retracted the claim. It was later revealed that the suicide bomber was Diana Ramazanova. It was a Russian woman, of Dagestan origin, with links to ISIL. Istiklal Shopping Street is near it. Whose distance there will be about 5-6 kilometers.
Explosion at the Historic Blue Mosque
Turkey also suffered two major bombing attacks in 2015. In July, 33 people were killed in an ISIL suicide attack in the city of Suruk near Turkey’s border with Syria. In October, two suicide bombers detonated explosives, killing more than 100 people outside Ankara’s main train station. People had gathered here for a peace rally. It was Turkey’s deadliest attack. The explosion occurred at 10:20 a.m. local time in a park that is home to Theodosius’ historic obelisk. The suicide bomber went to a tour group standing in Sultanahmet Square and blew himself up. The obelisk is about 25 meters (82 ft) from the historic Blue Mosque and explosions were heard from several areas around the city.
A suicide attack in Istiklal Street
In the same year there was a suicide attack in the popular Istiklal Street in the Taksim Square area of central Istanbul. In which at least five people were killed and 36 were injured. The then Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu confirmed that at least two Israeli civilians were killed in the blast. Two US citizens have also been killed, while Iran said that one of its citizens had also died. The suspected suicide bomber was also killed in it. Twenty-four foreign nationals are also among the injured, including 11 Israelis.
A few minutes ago, Gulzar became helpless again.
Witnesses told Al Jazeera that hundreds of people fled the site of the explosion in panic, seconds after the incident. Istiklal Street is a long walkway that winds its way from Taksim Square through the Beyoglu neighborhood. It is surrounded by hundreds of shops and was completely full of people at the time of the blast. Al Jazeera’s Jamal Elshayal said the explosion was the equivalent of a bomb detonating on Oxford Street in London or Fifth Avenue in New York.
ISIS targets Istanbul
ISIL has carried out at least four bomb attacks on Turkey since June 2015, including a suicide bombing. In which 10 German tourists were killed in central Istanbul in January. The Kurdish party’s hand is also being told in the blast that took place in Istanbul on Sunday evening. The Al Jazeera report claimed that the woman suspected of carrying out the blasts is a member of the Women’s Kurdistan Workers’ Party. Talking about it, this party is a Kurdish extremist leftist organization. It was built on 1984. It started spreading terrorism only after six years from the 1990s.
Why do Kurds hate this area?
The influence of this organization is more in North Iraq and South-East Turkey. Its purpose was to establish an independent Kurdish state in South-East Turkey. Kurds are spread throughout the Middle East. This is the largest such group in the world which does not have any country. Most Kurds live in Iraq, Syria and Turkey. It is said that their population is around 3.5 crores. When the Ottoman Empire broke up after the First World War, the Kurds were promised a separate country, but the agreement was soon canceled. Since then these Kurds keep targeting these areas. Big terrorist organizations also keep firing guns by keeping them on their shoulders.
