Actually, this matter has come to the fore in Gomal University of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. Gomal University issued a notice on Thursday. In this, there was a complete ban on the interaction and coupling of students (male and female) within the campus. It has been said by the university that this decision has been taken to prevent any kind of ‘unpleasant incident’.
Girls should be confined to the classroom!
According to the notification issued by the university, ‘It is informed to all that the gathering / coupling (male and female) on any ground, road etc. outside the campus of the department is completely banned.’ The university has asked girl students to be careful. They have been told to confine themselves to the classrooms and common rooms of the department.
Students have also been warned in the notice. The university’s notification said, “Strict action will be taken against those students who break the rules by ignoring them.” According to the university administration, this decision will help in providing a better and safer environment for the girl students. However, with this decision, the difficulties of the girl students are also going to increase.
5 thousand fine imposed for listening to the song
Gomal University has been in discussion before also. Last year, the university had imposed a fine of Rs 5,000 on two students of its Institute of Computing and Information Technology (ICIT) department for listening to songs. The chairman of the ICIT department had said that both the students were playing songs through Bluetooth speakers in the teaching area of the university. He had said that by doing so he had disrupted the studies of the department. Both the students were warned for doing so earlier also. But fines were imposed for not following the rules.
