The United States Geological Survey (USGS) said a 7.3-magnitude earthquake struck 211 kilometers east-southeast of Nayafu, Tonga. The epicenter of the earthquake was at a depth of 24.8 km.
The USGS said that the possibility of further damage to life and property due to the quake is low. The US Tsunami Warning System has issued a tsunami advisory.
