Three LEJ terrorists killed in Pakistan (Pakistan Lashkar-e-Jhangvi)

Three Terrorists of Lashkar-E-Jhangvi Killed in Pakistan: Three Lashkar-e-Jhangvi terrorists allegedly involved in an attack on members of minority Shia community in Pakistan’s Punjab province have been killed by the country’s law enforcement agencies (Attack on Shia’s in Pakistan). Lashkar-e-Jhangvi (LEJ) terrorists were involved in an attack on a Muharram procession in Bahawalnagar, about 260 km from Lahore, last August, in which two people were killed and over 50 were injured.

The Anti-Terrorism Department (CTD) of Punjab Police said in a statement on Wednesday that it has arrested LEJ terrorist Umar Draj, who was involved in the attack on a procession on the 10th of Muharram in Bahawalnagar (Lashkar-e-Jhangvi Hit List). A CTD team on Tuesday took them to Mozaklay Pathan district of Pakpattan, about 200 km from Lahore, to recover firearms and grenades that Draj had dumped in that area.

Indiscriminate firing on the team

“As soon as the CTD team recovered two grenades, arms and ammunition, unidentified accomplices armed with firearms of terrorist Umar Draj ambushed the team and started firing indiscriminately and took Draj with them,” the CTD said. .’ The CTD said, ‘The team took cover and retaliated in self-defence. When the firing stopped, Umar Draj and his two accomplices were found dead (Lashkar-e-Jhangvi Balochistan). However, four of his accomplices managed to escape taking advantage of the darkness.

Many attacks on Shia community

Two hand grenades, two pistols, one rifle and ammunition have been recovered from the spot. The LEJ is a Sunni terrorist group that has claimed responsibility for several deadly attacks against the minority Shia community in Pakistan. These include the 2013 Quetta blast, in which more than 200 Hazara Shias were killed. Earlier last month, Pakistan claimed to have arrested eight terrorists of four outfits including Islamic State and Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) from Punjab province. In view of the increasing attacks on the police and soldiers here, a campaign is being run against the terrorists by the Anti-Terrorism Department (CTD).
