This story begins in the city of Bath, England. From where this letter was written and posted. When the first two digits of the year of the letter were seen carefully, the eyes of those who saw it were shocked. 1916 was registered till the top of the letter. We all wondered how this wonder could be possible that a century had passed for a letter to reach its destination.
To whom and to whom was the letter written?
According to media reports, King’s seal was affixed on the letter. It also confirmed that the letter was posted in 1916 and not in 2016. After examining the history of the letter, it was handed over to the local history organization. So that further research can be possible about the letter. And it can be kept safe in the museum. Stephen Oxford, editor of the local history magazine The Norwood Review, says, “This letter was written to someone Katie Marsh. She was married to a stamp dealer named Oswald Marsh. Mersch’s friend Christable Meinl wrote this letter to him. Who lived then in the city of Bath. He wrote in the letter that I need your help. What I did that day Since then I feel ashamed of myself, I am going through a very bad phase here due to severe cold.
According to Oxford itself, “At that time this letter was lost in some post office due to unknown reasons. Which is possible that now someone got it somewhere during the renovation and it was sent to the address mentioned above. The letter became famous because it took 100 years to reach the registered address, whoever wrote it is believed to be the daughter of a rich tea trader of that era. Then both Upper Norwood and Crystal Palace places used to be very grand and delightful in those days. Where people belonging to upper middle class used to reside. After knowing the history of this letter, Glenn, who handed it over to the History Organization, is very happy.
