The policies of the government drowned the country
The decline in tourism during the COVID-19 epidemic and the careless economic policies of the government are responsible for the ongoing economic crisis in Sri Lanka. Due to economic policies, there was a shortage of foreign exchange. A well-known example of the government’s negligence is the ban on chemical fertilizers to make Sri Lanka’s agriculture 100% organic. Due to the economic situation, there has been tremendous opposition to the demands for the resignation of Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa and President Gotabaya Rajapaksa.
