Constitution may be suspended in Bangladesh.
There is talk of a big upset once again in Bangladesh politics. According to media reports, a major announcement can be made in early July. Through this announcement, there is a preparation to start a new political system in the country.
For this, the current constitution can be temporarily suspended. The proposal has come to light after last year's student movement and public discrimination, which forced the then Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to leave the country.
Why is the demand to suspend the constitution arising?
According to many media reports in Bangladesh, the Constitution of 1972 has now become the biggest obstruction in the path of improvement in Bangladesh. The mass movement that took place on August 5 last year, had hoped that the system would change, but the ground changes were not seen. Now the demand is arising that until a permanent and fair government is formed, the constitution should be stopped for some time and an interim government should be formed which can work towards the necessary reforms.
Dr. Yunus can become an interim president
According to the draft plan, if the constitution is suspended, then the Nobel Prize winner Professor Dr. Mohammad Yunus can be made the interim President. Tariq Rahman, executive president of BNP with him, can be given the role of Chief Advisor (Chief Advisor). Apart from this, Dr. Shafiqur Rahman, head of Jamaat-e-Islami, can be made deputy advisor. All these people together can form a government that further the process of reforms.
Khaleda Jia may also be option
Another big name is in discussion BNP chief Begum Khaleda Zia. If Dr. Yunus is not made President, his name may also be considered. At this time Shahabuddin Chuppu is in the presidency, but he was kept only to maintain constitutional balance. Now the atmosphere has changed, and the possibility of their removal is also being expressed.
Elections can be postponed, a new constitution will be formed
It has also been said in the July declaration that until the new government takes oath, the upcoming elections can be avoided a little. The first task of the new government will be to create a new constitution, improve old bureaucracy, bring transparency from tax system to governance. Sources believe that even now many government departments dominate the old fascist thinking, which is necessary to remove.
Do all parties agree on this change?
Suspending the constitution is not a small step, so it is also being debated. But on one thing, most political parties seem to be agreeing that if the country is to be made democratic in the true sense, then a big change is necessary. There are two main faces of this temporary government of Bangladesh- Prof. Yunus and Begum Khalida lived. Now it has to be seen that in which of these two hands goes the command of the next government and which path Bangladesh goes ahead.
