This march to Islamabad has started from the same place in Wazirabad in Punjab province where Imran Khan was attacked last week. The Hakiki Azadi (Real Freedom) march was halted on November 3 following an attack on 70-year-old Khan. Khan is taking out this march to demand early elections.
When this march reached Wazirabad, two gunmen opened fire on the container kept on the truck in which Khan was in. The PTI chief was shot in the right leg in this attack. At the same time, one party worker has died and 11 others were injured. He has been treated at Shaukat Khanum Hospital, owned by Khan’s charitable organisation. Doctors have advised him to take rest for four to six weeks.

Addressing his supporters through video, Khan alleged that a conspiracy was hatched to kill him in September. He claimed that the incident was carried out as part of a conspiracy. Khan said, I want to make it clear that this plan was prepared in September. In a public meeting on September 24, I said that the plan has been made and they will blame the religious fanatics for this.
Khan said that those who wanted to get him killed had conspired to get him killed by a religious fanatic so that he could escape the responsibility. The PTI chief has accused Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, Home Minister Rana Sanaullah and Major General Faisal Naseer of hatching a conspiracy to kill him. Leading the march in Khan’s absence, former foreign minister and senior party leader Shah Mehmood Qureshi had earlier said that the party president would soon join his supporters in the long march to Islamabad.
How did the relationship with the army chief deteriorate
Imran Khan said in an interview, I always believed that the army is so powerful and organized, when I try to bring rule of law in the country, they will play an important role. Asked when relations between him and Pakistan’s mighty military began to deteriorate, Khan said his government’s failure to convict those whom he had accused of corruption was the first sign of it.
