In Nepal’s worst accident in more than 30 years, a passenger plane crashed into a river valley on Sunday while landing at Pokhara airport, killing all 72 people on board.

Nepal Of Pokhara I have told the story of the plane crash that the people present there saw through the eyes of the accident. Deepak Shahi, an eyewitness to the Nepal plane crash on Sunday, told that he and two-three others heard a loud noise and reached the accident site. On reaching there, he saw that a plane had exploded.
Shahi said, “The sound was very loud, so I and two-three other people ran towards the crash site where we saw that one of the planes had exploded.” Shahi said, we took some people to the hospital. Some people got buried under the plane and we pulled them out. Dead bodies of some people were also lying in the ditch. We took them out too.
People recovered 35 dead bodies
Another eyewitness Mahmood Khan said that he and his friend were at their house when they heard a loud noise. We were at home when we heard a sound and reached the terrace, he said. There we saw smoke and reached the accident site. We tried to save people and pulled out around 35 bodies.

Five Indian citizens were also present in the aircraft. The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) said that Yeti Airline’s 9N-ANC ATR-72 aircraft had taken off from Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu at 10.33 am. While landing at Pokhara airport, the plane crashed on the banks of Seti river between the old airport and the new airport.
A total of 68 passengers and four crew members were on board the aircraft. The flight time between Kathmandu and Pokhara is 25 minutes. An official of the District Administration Office, Kaski said that the bodies have been taken to Gandaki Hospital for postmortem. The official said that most of the bodies were so badly damaged that it was difficult to identify them. Nepal Army spokesman said that efforts to search for four more people would resume on Monday.
A total of 15 foreign nationals were on board the aircraft. Among them were five Indians, four Russians, two Koreans, one each from Australia, France, Argentina and Israel. It is learned that the five Indians on board the plane have been identified as Abhishek Kushwaha (25), Vishal Sharma (22), Anil Kumar Rajbhar (27), Sonu Jaiswal (35) and Sanjay Jaiswal. Four of the five Indians killed in the plane crash in Nepal on Sunday were planning to take part in paragliding activities in the tourist hub of Pokhara, a local resident said. Four out of five Indian citizens had reached Kathmandu from India on Friday itself.
