Pakistan said that the Ambassador in charge of India was told with emphasis that the Indian government’s objective was to reduce the representation of Muslims in constituencies under the guise of the so-called Delimitation Commission. It has also told the ambassador that the Jammu and Kashmir dispute has been on the agenda of the United Nations Security Council, it said. Pakistan further said, allowing disproportionately high electoral representation of Hindu population by India to the detriment of Muslims shows that India’s move is illegal, one-sided and a cunning attempt. It is a mockery of all norms of democracy, morality and India’s obligations under UN Security Council resolutions and international law.
