Police in Richmond, Virginia, are trying to find the individual answerable for a Tuesday taking pictures that passed off throughout a highschool commencement ceremony on the campus of Virginia Commonwealth University.
According to the college’s security alert system, pictures had been fired on the Monroe Park campus after 5pm Eastern time, close to the Altria Theater.
VCU police stated on Tuesday there’s no ongoing menace to the general public.
Four to 5 individuals might have been wounded within the incident, WWBT studies, citing unnamed sources.
The taking pictures passed off exterior of Huguenot High School’s commencement ceremony, Richmond Public Schools informed the station.
Jason Alexander, whose son was a part of the commencement ceremony, informed NBC12 the taking pictures seemed like “fireworks” and despatched crowds scattering exterior the theater.
The man says he noticed a number of injured and estimates he heard eight to 10 pictures fired.
“It just don’t make no sense,” one other bystander informed the station. “We’re supposed to be happy about people. We’re supposed to be supporting one another, loving on another, hugging one another. Come on now. I just think it’s bad. We have to do better.”
