Italy’s army has arrested Matteo Messina Denaro, the notorious mafia boss of Italy, who has been absconding for the last thirty years. The accused went to a private clinic in Sisley for treatment on Monday. At the same time, the police had arrested the accused on a secret information. Italy’s PM Georgia Meloni congratulated on the arrest of the mafia.
He tweeted that the arrest of the accused was the biggest victory of Italy. Messina Denaro is the boss of Sicily’s Cosa Nostra Mafia. Denaro carried out two bomb blasts in Sicily in 1992, killing his opposition lawyers Giovanni Falcone and Paolo Borsellino.

Mafia accused of multiple murders
The accused is also guilty of bomb attacks in Rome and Milan. In which 10 people were killed the next year. Police said in September 2022 that Messina Denaro was running Mafia activities in the area around the western Sicilian city of Trapani, despite his long disappearance.

Messina Denaro, who dominated the port city of Trapani in western Sicily, was considered Sicily’s top Mafia kingpin despite being a fugitive. Having eluded police for decades, Messina Denaro is the last of the top three fugitives.
