Israeli Army Chief Lieutenant General Aviv Kohavi (IDF Chief of the General Staff LTG Aviv Kohavi)
Israel Iran Conflict News: The ongoing tension between Israel and Iran is increasing continuously due to the war of words between the two countries. Now Israel’s army chief has called for intensifying action against Iran and its nuclear program, including conducting covert operations. Lt Gen Aviv Kohavi (LTG Aviv Kohavi) said at a ceremony that Israel and its intelligence community were “acting against Iran’s territorially determined position in West Asia.”
“The campaign to destroy Iran’s capabilities in various areas and at any time will continue,” he said at the ceremony. In this ceremony, the army appointed Major General Aharon Haliwa as its new intelligence chief (Israel Iran Dispute). “The plans to campaign against Iran’s nuclear program will continue and will continue to improve,” he said. Whatever the developments, it is our duty to give an effective and timely military response.
Why does Israel consider Iran a threat?
Israel considers Iran’s biggest threat to itself, citing its military presence in neighboring Syria, its support for anti-terrorist groups and the creation of long-range missiles capable of attacking Israel. Israel accuses him of trying to build an atomic bomb (Iran Israel Explained). However, Iran has denied this allegation. But this is not the first time that an Israeli official has threatened Iran. Similar statements have come to the fore in the past as well.
PM Naftali Bennett had threatened
Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett blamed Iran after the attack on an Israeli-operated oil tanker months ago. In which two people died. Bennett said that Iran had made a ‘serious mistake’ (Iran Israel Conflict). Iran denied the attack. The Israeli PM had threatened that ‘we know how to respond to Iran in any situation’. Apart from this, Israel is also facing attacks by an extremist organization named Hamas, which is backed by Iran.
