On the issue of terrorism financing, the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) said on Friday that the group is monitoring the steps being taken by Pakistan and every action is being monitored.
Pakistan, which has become poor, may keep shouting that it is taking strong action against terrorism financing, but what is the truth, the whole world knows. The leader of Hizbul Mujahideen is seen roaming freely on the streets. Now on this issue, Financial Action Task Force (FATF) President T Raja Kumar said that the organization is keeping a close eye on Pakistan’s commitment and action against terrorism financing.
According to a Hindustan Times report, FATF President T Raja Kumar, when asked whether Hizbul Mujahideen chief Syed Salahuddin’s activities in Rawalpindi went against Pakistan’s commitments to crack down on terrorism, said: “Combating the financing of terrorism and maintaining its own systems.” To strengthen it, he is constantly monitoring Pakistan’s actions. In fact, Syeda Salahuddin, the leader of Hizbul Mujahideen, was seen roaming freely in Pakistan. Recently, he attended the funeral of Hizbul’s dreaded terrorist Bashir Ahmed Peer.

Talking to the media after the end of a meeting in Paris, FATF President T Raja Kumar of Singapore said that it is important for Pakistan to fulfill all its commitments. Responding to the questions regarding media reports, Raja Kumar said that I will not speculate on media reports, but it is necessary that the Asia Pacific Group is monitoring the steps taken by Pakistan.
Explain that the Asia Pacific Group (APG) is a FATF-style regional body with 41 member countries that monitors money laundering and terror financing. The Financial Action Task Force last October removed Pakistan from the gray list after implementing two action plans on large-scale anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist financing in Pakistan. The watchdog had put Pakistan on this list in 2018.

FATF, while removing it from the gray list, had said that Pakistan will have to continue working continuously to strengthen the system to deal with terrorist financing and money laundering. Kumar said that a total of 34 work items have been given to Pakistan by FATF along with two action plans. He said that the FATF team had also made an on-site visit to Pakistan, which confirmed that Pakistan has strengthened its system.
