Now once again North Korea has tested a ballistic missile. Japan’s Defense Ministry gave this information on Saturday. North Korea has conducted more than 20 missile tests this year, which is a record number. It has also refused to resume long-stalled nuclear talks with the US. North Korea is also increasing its ability to fire missiles from submarines. South Korean officials recently said they had received indications that North Korea was preparing to test-fire a missile from a submarine.
Several missile tests conducted in recent days
North Korea also tested two short-range ballistic missiles at sea on Thursday, hours after US Vice President Kamala Harris departed home from South Korea. During his visit to South Korea, Harris emphasized the US commitment to the security of its Asian allies amid growing threats from North Korea. This was the third missile test conducted by North Korea recently. North Korea conducted a missile test a day before Harris arrived in South Korea, and a test was conducted on Sunday.
Harris described ‘act of provocation’
Harris called North Korea’s missile tests an act of provocation, intended only to destabilize the region. He said the US and South Korea are committed to the “complete denuclearization” of the North. Japan’s Defense Minister Yasukazu Hamada also expressed concern that North Korea was improving its weapon technology through its tests.
