Hong Kong New Textbooks: China has changed the things written in the books to teach wrong history to the children of Hong Kong. Now schools will be taught with new books.
Children in schools around the world (Hong Kong New Textbooks) is taught that Hong Kong was once a British colony but now the children of Hong Kong will not be told this. According to local media reports, new books for children have been printed in Hong Kong schools. In these it will be told that the British colony (British Colony) instead of British colonial rule in Hong Kong, in order to establish China’s claims to sovereignty. China has been insisting that it has never given up its sovereignty.
In the 1800s, it had to give Hong Kong to the British due to unfair opium treaties, and Britain ruled it for more than 150 years. Then in 1997, Hong Kong was handed back to China. During Britain’s rule, Hong Kong developed into a rapidly growing port city with a colony or dependent territory, one of the world’s major financial centers. Britain ruled it from 1841 to 1941 and from 1945 to 1997. After this it was handed back to China.

Earlier, it was described as a British colony in Hong Kong’s government museums, but in 2020 these words were also removed.
China has tried to establish a Chinese identity among Hong Kong children in recent years. So that it can prove that Hong Kong has been a part of China but it was taken over by the British. Now new books explain the difference between colonialism and colonial rule. It has been told that in order to be called a colony, there is a need to rule along with sovereignty over an area. According to local media reports, the books read, ‘Hong Kong is not a British colony since the British only ruled colonially.’
