British Foreign Secretary to announce new strategic forum, technology agreement in India, arrived in Delhi today on a two-day visit

Britain’s Foreign Secretary Liz Truss will announce several alliances to boost the economies of India and Britain. Liz Truss arrived in New Delhi today on a two-day visit with her counterpart S Jaishankar and Environment Minister Bhupender Yadav to discuss areas of close cooperation between the two countries. Lease Truss will announce a technology and infrastructure tie-up with India worth more than $82 million to help support clean and sustainable development. The British government gave this information on Friday.

During Foreign Secretary Liz Truss’s visit that began on Friday, Britain will announce technology and infrastructure deals, including an investment of £50.4 million, to fund green tech infrastructure projects across India. Liz Truss is set to announce a technology and infrastructure tie-up of over £60 million with India to boost both economies and help developing countries grow in a clean and sustainable manner.

Strategic Futures Forum announced

A new strategic forum ‘Strategic Futures Forum’ will be announced after talks between Liz Truss and External Affairs Minister Jaishankar. This forum will bring together prominent people from the government, business and academia in both the countries. So that they can shape the long-term strategy for the India-UK partnership with the aim of building closer ties in priority areas such as technology and security, and promoting technical expertise in both countries. UK Research and Innovation will also invest £5 million to build a new virtual network of Indian and British laboratories.

The meeting focused on climate goals

Liz Truss said, ‘I want the UK and India to further strengthen their partnership in key areas such as technology, investment, security and defence.’ At the same time, in his meeting with Bhupendra Yadav, the focus will be on climate related goals. Technical and infrastructure deals will be finalized during Truss’s two-day visit, aimed at boosting jobs and driving green growth. In a statement ahead of her visit to India, Liz Truss said, “I want the UK and India to advance their partnership in key areas such as technology, investment, security and defence. India is the world’s largest democracy, a technological and economic superpower and an important strategic partner for the UK.
