200 protesters blocked the way
It is being told that the High Commissioner of India in Ottawa, Sanjay Kumar Verma was about to attend a program organized at the Taj Park Convention Center when more than 200 protesters reached there. Some also had swords in their hands. Seeing his performance, Sanjay Kumar Verma canceled his participation in the program. In fact, a reception was organized by the Friends of India and Canada Foundation in Surrey, British Columbia. The High Commissioner of India was to attend this programme.
The matter is being told of Sunday evening. The protesters had reached the venue even before the program started. Police was also unable to control them in view of their huge crowd. Because of this, Sanjay Kumar Verma was advised to return.
