Venezuela (Venezuela) of a retired general of the army (Retired Army General) made sensational allegations that top-level US officials in the US intelligence agency the CIA and other federal agencies were aware of his efforts to oust Nicolas Maduro from power. Along with this, he demanded immediate dismissal of the allegations that he, along with Maduro, delivered a large consignment of cocaine to America. Cliver Alcala (Cliver Alcala) made these allegations in the documents given in the court on Friday.
Federal prosecutors in Manhattan charged Alcala with drug trafficking nearly two years ago. Alcala’s lawyers said in a November 2021 letter to prosecutors, “The US government was well aware of attempts to oust the Maduro government from power (Venezuela Coup Latest). His opposition to the government and his alleged attempts to oust it were known to officials at the top levels of the Central Intelligence Agency, the National Security Council and the Treasury Department.
Documents raised new questions
These court documents have raised fresh questions about whether the previous Donald Trump administration was aware of the failed plan to oust Maduro from power. Alcala took office in 2013 after the death of Hugo Chavez. Since then he has been an outspoken critic of Maduro (Allegations on Cliver Alcala). But despite such open animosity towards Maduro, he and his foe Maduro were simultaneously accused of being part of a group of senior Venezuelan officials and military officials that allegedly works with Colombian rebels. And America sends 250 metric tons of cocaine a year.
America was in touch with opposition leaders
The lawyers did not provide any details about what the US government might have known about Alcala’s coup plot (Cliver Alcala on CIA). He only said that he believed his activities were reported to American officials in high positions.
