Jharkhand has made a lot of progress in the field of fisheries. Due to the hard work of the farmers of the state, Jharkhand is producing record fish every year. In such a situation, the government is running schemes to encourage the fish farmers of the state. By taking advantage of which fish farmers can earn even better. At present, fish farmers of the state can take advantage of four schemes. Fish-cum-duck farming, shrimp fish farming, scheme for providing gelnet and plan for providing life jackets. Apart from this, fishermen can also take loan from KCC (Kisan Credit Card) for fisheries.

To take advantage of this scheme, the beneficiary should have at least two acres of land. The scheme has to be done in two acres from two eligible beneficiaries of the district. This plan is of Rs 279,840. For the implementation of the scheme, Rs 122,600 will be borne by the government, while Rs 157,240 will have to be borne by the beneficiary himself.

Under this scheme, 1.20 lakh will be given by the government to the beneficiary. Whereas the beneficiary himself will have to spend 30-35 thousand rupees. To take advantage of this scheme, the beneficiary should have at least one acre of land.

The third scheme is for the members of Matsya Jeev Sahyog Samiti. Under this scheme, there is a plan to give gillnet to 15 members of various committees. The cost of a gelnet ranges from 2500 to 3000 rupees. To be benefited from this scheme, the beneficiary will have to invest 500 to one thousand rupees.

The benefit of this scheme will be given to those fish farmers who do fish farming through cage culture. Under this scheme, there is a plan to give life jackets to 20 fishermen. Its price is around 1600 rupees. In this scheme, the beneficiary will have to bear the cost of Rs 200 on their own. At present, these are the four schemes in the fisheries department for fish farmers.
Department working on Prime Minister’s Matsya Sampada Yojana
Every year many schemes come from the department for the fish farmers of the state, but from the year 2020 after the corona epidemic, new schemes have not come. 42 types of schemes related to Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana are being run by the department. This is a five year plan. At present, the Fisheries Department is working exclusively on the Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana.
KCC for fishermen
Now the benefit of KCC is also being given to the fish farmers. Earlier this facility was not available to them. But to encourage fish farmers, loans are being provided from KCC for them too. Under which loans will be given to 39 thousand for fish seed production, 60 thousand for mixed fisheries, 1.80 lakh for cage fisheries and up to Rs 91,200 for duck-cum-fishing farmers.
