WhatsApp Ban Account: WhatsApp has released the User Safety Report of December 2022. In December, the company has banned 36 lakh Indian accounts. At the same time, the company took immediate action and banned more than 13 lakh accounts even before receiving any complaint.

Sharing the users safety report, WhatsApp informed that in December 2022, more than 36 lakh Indian accounts have been banned.
The instant messaging platform owned by Meta said that 36.77 lakh accounts have been banned last month. According to the company, IT Rule 2021 has been violated from these accounts. WhatsApp has informed that the company has directly banned the accounts of more than 1,389,000 users. Even before receiving any complaint, the company took immediate action and closed these accounts.

The report released by WhatsApp revealed that it received 1,607 complaints in December, which is 70 percent more than the previous month’s 946 complaints. Out of 1,607 complaints, 1,459 i.e. 91 per cent complaints were about account blocking. However, the company took action only on 164 complaints. Apart from this, 13 reports were related to safety. Explain that the company bans the account for violating IT rules and WhatsApp policy.

- Do not send or forward hate messages.
- Avoid sending or forwarding fake messages or false rumours.
- Sharing obscene content will also get the account banned.
- Be careful while adding a new member to the WhatsApp group.
- Message only those you know and do not send unnecessary messages to unknown people.
- WhatsApp should not be used to scam or fraud people.
- Account will be banned for violating IT rules and WhatsApp policy.
Social media companies issue reports
Under IT Rules 2021, it is necessary for all digital platforms working in India to issue compliance reports every month. Companies have to give information about how many complaints they have received and what action has been taken on them. WhatsApp has also released the Monthly Users Safety Report under this rule. In February 2021, the government had told that 53 crore Indians use WhatsApp.
